Returns, Cancellations & Order Changes

Thank you for shopping at Leah Ideas. Below you'll find our policy broken into the four situations customers actually ask about — returns, cancellations, refused packages, and payment fees — each with a plain-English explanation of why the rule exists.

1. Returns

We're proud that our return rate is close to 1% — as long as you choose the correct size and version at checkout, quality is the last thing you'll need to worry about. Every piece is produced to match exactly what you see in our sample photos and videos, so what arrives is what you were promised.

That said, we know sometimes a return is genuinely needed, and we want that process to feel simple and fair when it happens.

What "Free Return" Means

Our 15-day return is free in the sense that matters most: we never charge you a restocking fee, handling fee, or any hidden fee for returning artwork you're not satisfied with — unlike many stores that quietly deduct a percentage from your refund just for processing the return. You'll get back exactly what you paid for the item.

The one cost that stays with the customer is return shipping — mailing the item back to us.

15-Day Return Window

If you're not happy with your piece, you can return it within 15 days of delivery, starting from the date the artwork is marked as delivered by the shipping carrier.

  • Item must be unused and in its original packaging, with all labels, tags, and instructions included.
  • Email info@leahideas.com with your name and order number to start a return, or use the chat on our site — our AI assistant can answer about 90% of questions instantly.
  • Once you request a return, we'll provide you with the correct return address and shipping instructions. Please don't ship items to the address on your original delivery label — that's a production facility, not our returns center, and items sent there cannot be processed for a refund.
  • We recommend a trackable shipping service — we can't refund a return that gets lost or left at a pickup point instead of being delivered to us.
  • Once we receive and inspect the returned item, refunds are issued to your original payment method within 10 business days.
  • Total window: your return must be shipped within 15 days of delivery and arrive at our facility within 20 days total. The extra 5 days is built in to cover normal transit delays — it isn't a second deadline, just breathing room for the mail.

Damaged or defective on arrival? That's not a return — see below.

2. Damaged or Wrong Items (Our Error)

If your canvas arrives damaged, defective, or isn't what you ordered, we will send you a replacement free of charge — no return shipping required from you. Please note: this is handled as a replacement, not a refund.

If you would prefer a refund instead of a replacement, this is treated as a cancellation rather than a damage claim. In that case, a 35% fee applies, with the remaining 65% refunded to you — this covers shipping and handling costs already committed with our suppliers, not a profit margin.

Please send us:

  • Photos of the box
  • The shipping label
  • Front and back of the canvas
  • A close-up of the damage

We'll review and arrange your replacement as quickly as possible.

3. Cancellations (Before Your Order Ships)

Cancellations are a different process from returns — once you place an order, we immediately begin production with our suppliers, some of whom don't allow us to cancel or get refunded after a certain point. Our fees here exist to cover what we're already committed to paying, not to penalize you.

Timing What Happens
Within 2 hours of ordering Full refund, no fee — nothing has been sent to production yet.
2–24 hours after ordering Cancellation is possible but not guaranteed, since production may have already started. A 35% fee applies if approved, with the remaining 65% refunded — this covers the production and shipping costs already committed with our suppliers.
After 24 hours Cancellation is no longer available, as the order is in production or has shipped. You're welcome to return the item once it arrives, under our standard 15-day return policy above.

Why a 6% fee on all approved cancellations? Payment processors (like PayPal and card networks) don't return their transaction fees to us when we issue a refund — we pay that fee whether the sale completes or not. The 6% covers that pass-through cost; it isn't an extra charge we're adding for ourselves.

4. Refused or Undeliverable Packages

If a package is refused at delivery, or if it can't be delivered because of an incorrect address provided at checkout, this is treated differently from a standard return, because it creates real costs on our end that a normal return doesn't:

  • We're charged for return-to-sender shipping.
  • We've already paid the original outbound shipping and production cost, neither of which is recoverable.

Because of this, a 65% deduction applies to cover shipping and handling costs, with the remaining 35% refunded once the package is returned to us and inspected. This reflects the actual costs incurred — return shipping, the original outbound shipping, and the production cost of the piece — not a profit margin. If the delay or refusal was caused by an incorrect address given at checkout, the same principle applies.

Missed Deliveries. If you're not present to receive your artwork and the carrier attempts delivery more than once without success, one of two things will happen:

  • If you'd still like to receive the artwork, a redelivery fee will apply to cover the additional shipping attempt.
  • If you no longer want the item, it will be treated the same as a refused package: a 65% deduction applies to cover production, material, and shipping costs (both the original outbound shipping and the return shipping charged to us by the carrier), with 35% refunded to you.

We know this is our highest fee — it exists specifically because these cases cost us both the product and two rounds of shipping, with no ability to resell the item afterward.

Other Situations

Custom orders: Custom designs are non-returnable and cannot be cancelled once the first digital draft has been delivered, since design work has already begun. The custom design fee is non-refundable in this case. If the custom design was offered as part of your order at no charge and the order is cancelled after the first draft is delivered, a $150 USD fee (or the equivalent in your local currency) will be deducted to cover the design hours already completed.

Wrong version selected by customer: If you ordered the wrong size/version and it's already been delivered, we'll accept the return as a courtesy, subject to a 40% restocking fee given the made-to-order nature of the product.
